Background:

In the beginning of time, when man was first created, the gods of the heavens and the underworld contemplated on what is to be done about humanity. They seemed lost in sin and darkness, unaware of how to provide for themselves. People were constantly killing one another, innocent lives ruined, faith lost because of such tragedies. Many then banded together and agreed to form the demigods, humans of godly status to live among the human race and observe what can be done. Most of the ones that were around were in Japan.

Born of gods and man, Yuri the Innocent was one of many demigods sent to Earth to act as an observer to mankind. She was born of Ryozu, a retired samurai of the Oda clan, and Izayoi, a princess who threw away her inheritance and went live a life of peace. They brought Yuri to the world, feeling she would grow up to be a respectable member in society. When she was just 2, Amaterasu came to Ryozu in the forest he trained at and told him what Yuri really was. It was something that he was too awestruck to take into consideration. Knowing that he wouldn't have long to see Yuri grow up, Ryozu and Izayoi made the best of what they had to teach Yuri all they knew.

Ryozu started teaching Yuri Bushido and what it meant to be a samurai. When she was just 4, Ryozu started training her in martial arts and swordplay. She started out using shinai, bamboo swords that were meant for kendo, and started using them up until she was 8. By then, she moved on to using bokken, hard wooden swords that were very dense and hard that in the right hands, it could be a deadly weapon. However, to save Yuri a life of regret and murder, Ryozu forbade her from ever becoming a soldier for the Oda clan. Mainly, all he taught her was self defense as well as a daily exercise when practicing her meditation.

On the flip side, Izayoi taught Yuri the way of the gods, how important it was to keep ones faith and what it can do. Izayoi would often talk on how her faith was what made her into such a peaceful and selfless woman. And that Yuri should strive to be at her best and to never forget that it was the gods that made her into what she is. In addition, Izayoi would often take Yuri out to the lakes and even the ocean where she learned to swim. From the moment she could crawl, Yuri was made into a very strong swimmer. By the time she was 10, she was able to dive at 275 meters and could hold her breath for 5 minutes. She made it her career as an ama diver (pearl diver) where she got a lot of her money from. 

Little Yuri was living a legitamately happy life with her family. Everyday, they had a reason to smile, and always thanked the gods for blessing them with such happiness. However, things took a darker turn when a rival clan set eyes on Ryozu. Turns out, he wasn't as retired as some have thought. Working as an informant, he had been delivering scrolls of reports of activity to Oda Nobunaga himself. So when they saw the opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone, they charged over to their house, impaled both Ryozu and Izayoi and left them in their house as they set it to burn. Yuri came to her house finding it in flames. Frightened that they were going to die, she bravely jumped into the house and pulled her parents out of the burning building. But by the time she reached to them, it was too late. They both succumbed to their wounds and died at each other's side. With her family gone and torn away from her life, many emotions seeped into Yuri. Sorrow, loneliness, stress, anger, and rage. After burying her family and giving them a proper burial, Yuri set out to get her revenge on the ones who did this. Outraged at the Oda clan for refusing to respond, Yuri decided it was only up to her to bring honor back to her family. And with that, she took upon her family's greatest and most proud weapon. The demon slaying, god killing sword, known as Immortal Killer.

Using Immortal Killer to its fullest, Yuri set out to get her revenge. After what seemed like a total of 4 days of tracking, she found the head clansman and challenged him to a duel. The two did battle in a small fortress outside of Edo. Three minutes of swords clashing, Yuri finally killed her first samurai in a duel for the first time in her life. As the blood clung permanently onto her, her innocence was tainted. She ran away, killing off other samurai that tried to stop her, broken and filled with much regret she gave up and cried out so hard and long, she just wanted to die. But no matter how many times she tried, even with Immortal Killer, Yuri just couldn't pass on to the afterlife to join her fallen parents. Yet it was not all lost for her. Recognizing her sorrow and tears, she was immediately found by the shrine maiden, Jeido Azama. She took pity for Yuri and helped her to her feet. Yuri was frightened at first. But slowly began to gain trust. with her. For 14 months, Jeido helped Yuri regain her senses back, along with getting her back in touch with humanity with the help of the pacifist forest spirit, Master Tatsumi. Yuri started remember all that Izayoi taught her. Her attitude changed, her compassion was much greater than it was before. Fearing the loss of many other innocent lives, Yuri went on to go on her own to join the Oda clan's army. Back with her self confidence, she took on her new namesake; The Innocent Murderer.

Before she went on to meet Nobunaga, Yuri was met in the forest by her older brother, Gokuro. He saw all that happened before her. But instead of comforting her, Gonkuro led Yuri to the three Kitsune Guardians. Immediately they began to tell Yuri of who and what she really is. With that in mind, her training was very rigorous. In record time, Yuri's strength and speed became unmatched by few. While her younger sister, Enjeru, felt like she was foolish to go on this journey on protecting Earth, rather than to return to the heavens, Yuri still pushed forward in becoming a samurai. And a damn good one too. 

Oda Nobunaga watched her in action when she challenged his best lieutenant to battle. Her tactics on getting up close, even if allowing herself to be impaled, was really admirable. It caught the attention of Oda Nobunaga, and her love interest, Mori. She became the first female lieutenant to lead Nobunaga's cavalry and swept through many foes. Over the next 4 years, she was able to help the Oda clan secure their place in Japan. Despite her accomplishments, she couldn't handle the politics of war. After Yuri destroyed a village that was thought to hold an entire clan of ninja, she wandered around the burnt remains. She questions on whether she's doing the right thing or not. Till she was certain she kept fighting. Until one day, another tragedy stuck. The time Yuri stepped out to look for any info on possible assassins that might be looking to kill Nobunaga, the castle was burning before her. She even lost signs of Mori, unsure if he was alive. With no one else to turn to, she became a ronin and started wandering the Earth on her own.

In a time span of nearly 500 years, Yuri was on her never ending crusade in protecting the innocent. From Feudal Japan to the modern world, Yuri never stopped. She became an expert in the art of assassination and a master of every fighting style known to man. She perfect manipulation, sword fighting, detective skills, tracking, has a photographic memory, and has a unlimited knowledge of pressure points. When the nuclear war ended with a bang in 1983, Yuri sought out the one man that could really help her hone her skills. The savior of the post apocalyptic world, Kenshiro, the Fist of the North Star. Kenshiro was very reluctant on helping Yuri achieve status in Hokuto Shinken, the ultimate assassination art. It was a first that a female would pick up on this martial art, but he could tell Yuri had a fire burning inside of her. Over the next 20 years, she successfully mastered her art. She could kill and heal with pressure point strikes, enhance them with her will power (often mistaken as fire,) and could accomplish some amazingly impossible super human feats. That said, her skills couldn't keep her from losing forever (even prior to that.) Yuri has lost quite a few battles and has 'died' 6 separate times. But considering all she has to face, you have to give her credit. One of Yuri's most valuable feats is her ability to deceive people. For decades, she's commonly mistaken as a demon child, inflicting that much fear in her enemies. She chose this to both use it as a fear factor and to portray her own fear of demons herself. At first, the only one who know about her real identity was her singing pop star idol, Miku Hatsune. You'd think a cheerful girlfriend with no blood on her hands would help her lighten up a bit...but that be bullshit.

Despite being broken, violent and uncontrollable fighter, Yuri does have some high sense of honor. And this reflected a lot as to how she fought. Her warrior mentality has made her that much difficult for anyone to beat. While she has suffered some loses, she always seems to spring back up, ready for another fight at any time. No matter how much pain she's in, Yuri will keep pushing herself beyond any limits. She's absolutely fearless, though doesn't seem to consider all the things that could end up costing her life. Even though she usually comes victorious, her self-confidence occasionally puts her in life threatening situations she can't escape without help. Yet regardless of her warrior mentality, she is very gentle with many other people. And has a very strong overdeveloped mother instinct when it comes to children. It's what separates her from being like any other killer; her humanity. Yet it's the same humanity that has led to Yuri's biggest downfall. Her powers and strength have made her think she can do everything on her own and has never really took any free time to relax. Yet there are few that are more deadlier than the Innocent Murderer. When you face her, don't bother trying to fight back. You are already dead...
