Background:

Sugi Toyama grew up in a clan known as the Tekari. She grew up in a region of Japan where it was close to the ocean and many of the clansmen were of dark complexion. The Tekari were very ancient native clan of Japan that has lived near the beaches. They were artisans, warriors, divers, and spell casters. Sugi was born with two separate eye colors, which made her stand out from the clan. Either with pink or blue is what her clan usually had. Yet for some reason, she had both. According to prophecy, every 100 years, a child would be born with eyes of both the ocean and the cosmos, and will grow up to either bring ruin to the world, or save it. So that kinda works out. Born to be a spell caster, Sugi started her training in just 8 years old.

She studied magic and sorcery along side with her single father, Otojiro, who really thought she had what it took to be the next great super hero.  Her training progressed so well, that by the time she was 12, she already had control over the elements and matter. This impressed everyone so much, there came a point where even the elders saw her as a deity than a person. Yet despite her amazing gifts, Sugi was very childish and rather liked to have fun. Going on many adventures where she enjoyed such journeys as diving in the ocean, collecting valuable treasure, taming wild animals (of all sorts), and practicing her magic. And while this would sometimes lead to trouble, she was actually not looked down upon her clansmen.

When she was old enough, she left the clan to peruse her own adventure. She is usually tasked with keeping the peace between man and demons. Convinced that she could accomplish this impossible task, she sought the help of one savior, Yuri the Innocent Murderer. Once she met her, Yuri took on the girl as her apprentice and her daughter. Under her specialized training, Sugi developed her own unique martial art she called 'Magic karate.' And while the name may sound like a joke, it's actually more effective than some would think. By combining her magic spells with brute force, Sugi can enhance her strikes with her choice of elements. The drawback, it forces her to use up a large amount of mana, an ethereal energy that is founded in all forms of life that can be used for magic. Should Sugi run out, it could leave her vulnerable and quickly tires her out. Luckily, Sugi is not solely dependent on her magic. She often is pretty handy with just about any type of weapon, including firearms. She's a quick learner and uses her animal like instincts and reflexes which makes her essentially unpredictable.  

Sugi is often nicknamed 'Sugar' by her American and English friends, by how much her name sounds like it. However, with the correct translation, she's named after a cedar tree that grows in Japan. Despite the confusion of her literal meaning, Sugi proved to be one the most kindest and childish kemonomimi to ever come out of Japan. She will often use her magic to win fights, and can usually hold her own against dozens of armed men on her own. She is also a skilled martial artist, an expert marksman, and acrobatics are nearly unmatched. However, she is very childish and has yet to mature into a real warrior. What most people will find as intimidating and horrific in appearances, she'll find either as adorable or interesting. Regardless, she is a cunning adventurer and absolutely fearless. Her sorcery powers are rivaled by few and has proven many times she's capable of saving the day all on her own.

When she met Carver Dragonfly ('s OC), they were married with in a matter of weeks. She works with Carver in his asylum to treat people and give them rehabilitation. She even goes as far as making friends with them which...brings up her mental status up to question. But for a childish 20 year old cat girl, she's pretty resourceful. Even in her current age, Sugi has been able to overpower even the most skillful artists of magic. It came to a point where she was teaching everyone her ways of magic and summoning rituals that made her such a well-respected member amongst humans, demons, and gods. Eventually, she founded her own clan of spell casters, the Kazuko. It's no surprise that her abilities match the expectations of those around her and has finally made her mark in becoming the next great super hero
