Background:

Growing up in a family where the art of combat was an art form and a way of life, Leiko Mine was always hoping to have her chance to be the best. Though she had a bit of a lazy and klutzy personality, she wanted to prove to everyone she can be a great martial arts master, like her father, Jutte Mine. Jutte was hoping that Leiko could bring her family to fame with his Judo school, the Hiryō-Ryu. Over the next 14 years, Leiko was training along side her fellow classmates. Yet despite her determination, she was a bit too eager to want to be the best and wanted to skip the basics. This had led her down a path of laziness and slacking.

She had been a green belt for quite sometime. Her skills were pretty accurate, but lacked any real power. Her father was a bit afraid that she'd be making herself a bit overconfident in her skills. Jutte was about ready to expell his own daughter out of the academy, until one fateful day, when his dojo was visited by Kuzu Tenken, the master of the Moeru ken-Ryu school, Hiryō-Ryu's rival. Kuzu went over to challenge Jutte to a battle to the death between the masters, winning the school's marquee. Being a man of honor and advocator of justice, Jutte refused to be intimidated by these men and gladly accepted Kuzu's challenge

For over 15 mintes of fighting, the two grand masters were practically bloody, worn out, and on the brink of death. Leiko was afraid that her father would fail and wanted to step in. Before she could even speak though, Jutte finally gave Kuzu something he couldn't heal away. With one punch, he crushed Kuzu's voice box and made him cough up blood. The victory of Jutte would be short lived as his heart gave out from the whole excitement of the fight. Even though Jutte was able to bring honor to his dojo, the Hiryō-Ryu school was forced to be shut down since no one else could fill his place.

Now with no one else to go to, Leiko secluded herself in the wilderness of Japan (or so she thought, it was really just right across the street from the arcade.) She spent a lot of time wanting to show everyone she can fill in the place of her late father and become the martial arts master she wanted to be. Leiko took the little that she learned from her father and mixed it in with kicks from Taekwondo. She would practice for hours kicking trees and doing push ups on rocks. Even though she was still a green belt, she felt like she done enough to be called a black belt. She called her new found martial art the Tetsu-tai-Ryu fighting style. While that may sound impressive, it only did so much. As great as her kicks and punches were, she was still too slow for most experienced fighters. Although, she skills were enough to gain the attention of the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament. Leiko would enter that tournament and win all the way up to fight the champion.

The champion of course would be the daughter of Kuzu Tenken, Toyotama Teken, who had been the championship holder a total of 6 years. Despite the utter shock of this, Leiko kindly offered to do the same to Toyotama as her father did to Kuzu. In return, Toyotama gladly offered to reunite daughter with father. The long await rivalry would come at hand as the two were going at each other. After a long hard fight, Toyotama was set to take the win...until Leiko surprised her with her power kicks. She ended up kicking Toyotama enough times to break her ribs and render her unable to fight. Leiko had finally found the recompense she had been training all her life for and came out as the new champion. Now confident she was the strongest in the world, her next goal would be to be the strongest in the universe. This new goal would rupture her to new life of wealth, fame, and luxury.
